Job Description

Gloagburn is a thriving family run farm shop and coffee shop on the outskirts of Perth open 8.30am - 5.30pm.

Our recently expanded farm shop stocks local, seasonal and Scottish produce, specialty foods from around the world and our own home made range including a variety of baked goods, ready meals, soups, pates, jams and chutneys from our own kitchen and bakery. The shop also has an in house butchery, deli counter, cheese counter, fresh produce, wines and spirits, grocery and confectionery. The gift shop stocks a varied range of beautiful items from pottery, and rugs to accessories and clothes, cards, books and household items.

We also provide custom made food hampers to individuals and corporate clients.

The job

Retail Assistant

This is a busy hands on job, keeping our farm shop tidy and beautifully presented. You will be ensuring products are fully stocked, promoted attractively, priced and labelled correctly and rotated to ensure they are in date order. Other duties include till work, including cash, card and voucher payments and a high standard of customer service and product knowledge

Customer care is a top priority, you will be providing a welcoming and cheerful environment, assisting customers, answering queries and making recommendations for our regular clients as well as those new to Gloagburn.

The team also share the responsibility of opening and closing procedures including setting up the deli counter, fresh produce, and cleaning duties.

The Person

The ideal applicant will be friendly and cheerful with strong customer care skills, an eye for detail and a genuine interest in food and local produce. You must be able to communicate and cooperate within a team and be confident to act on your initiative when required. If you enjoy a busy varied workload, have a positive attitude and thrive on team work we would love to hear from you. Food retail experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

The package

Hours are 8.30am - 5.30pm, on a monthly rota. Part time and full time applicants will be considered, weekends are involved. Hourly rate is 12.35 Plus a share of the restaurant tips 20% discount across the shop and coffee shop Free and discounted meals
