We are seeking a friendly and proactive Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, assisting customers with product selections, and maintaining an organised sales environment. This is a temporary, fixed term contract for 9 months to cover maternity leave. The contract is for a minimum of 16 hours and the shifts are worked between 7.30am - 3pm, over 4 / 5 days, Monday to Saturday inclusive, therefore this position is not suited for students. Living in the local Blairgowrie area is an advantage.
Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with product enquiries
Assist customers in locating items and making purchasing decisions
Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions to maximise sales opportunities
Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive displays
Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
Manage stock levels with correct stock rotation and restock shelves as needed
Handle customer queries via phone with professional etiquette
Keep the sales floor tidy, organised, and welcoming at all times
Maintain excellent personal and workplace hygiene standards
Skills
Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner
Strong organisational skills to manage stock and maintain displays effectively
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and cash register operations
Good time management to prioritise tasks efficiently during shifts
Effective phone etiquette for customer interactions over the phone
Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance customer experience and sales performance
Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing displays
Previous experience of working with food is preferable
