Butchery Retail and Production

Join our growing butchery retail and manufacturing team responsible for preparing products for our retail counter, customer orders and components for our fresh meat operations.

This is a customer-facing role, includes butchers counter service, preparation of retail products, cutting, boning, slicing and operation of manufacturing equipment.

Full time 35 - 40 hours Shifts on weekly rota Monday - Saturday, working 5 days out of 6 Hours varied on rota between 6am - 4pm Rate: 14.25 per hour Pro-rata 28 days annual leave (inc. bank holidays, Christmas day, Boxing Day and New Years Day off) Paid work trial and training provided

Duties

Preparation of meat cuts and products for our retail butchery counter and customer orders. Serving our retail customers over our Butchers Counter on Forres High Street, and fulfillment of customer orders (wholesale and online). Cutting and processing of various meat cuts for fresh meat manufacturing and our established pie business. Boning and skilled seam butchery; lamb, pork and and beef rump and loins. Operation of machinery eg. automatic fillers, mincers/mixers, vacuum packers, mechanical slicers. Packaging and labelling Maintaining hygiene and quality standards Record keeping Lifting and manual handling Cleaning of food production equipment and utensils Working in a high-pressure environment to order deadlines so our customers receive the freshest produce. ??
?Hourly rate of 14.25 per hour, rate dependant on successful completion of paid work trial, butchery skills assessment and probationary period.

Overtime shifts may be available at busy times across the site in other departments.

Requirements

Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene. Knife skills and butchery techniques. Good communication skills and spoken English language. Ability to work efficiently as part of a high-performing and agile team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
