Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Butchers to join our team in our retail outlet within Selfridges Foodhall on Oxford Street, London.

The ideal candidate will have a background in butchery, with excellent knowledge of food production and preparation, with a keen understanding of food safety practices and first class customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Trim, prepare, and portion different cuts of meat according to customer specifications and established standards. Prepare specialty products or added value products, such as marinades, kebabs, or pre-seasoned options. Create visually appealing displays of products on the counter, utilising signage, pricing and labeling for customer information. Provide a professional and customer focused service, assisting customers by answering questions about the products and offering recommendations based on their needs. Prepare custom cuts and packages to order, ensuring customer satisfaction with quality and presentation. Operation of any machinery used in the butchery process. Operate a cash register to process customer purchases accurately and efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a high standard of hygiene, proper storage and rotation of meats to maintain freshness Clean and sanitize butchering equipment and work surfaces after each use. Assist with waste management, ensuring proper disposal of trimmings and following company guidelines.

Requirements

Previous experience as a retail butcher. Demonstrable knowledge of meat products and knife skills. Willing and keen to learn Excellent customer service skills. Excellent knife skills and manual dexterity. Must be able to stand for extended periods.
