Who we are

The Outlet is not your typical charity shop. We sell only brand-new clothing donated by leading High Street retailers, offering customers stylish, high-quality pieces at hugely discounted prices. We are currently working with brands including Pretty Lavish, F&F, Mothercare and Wear London.

As well as providing a unique shopping experience, The Outlet is a vital source of income for Teens Unite - a charity supporting young people aged 13-24 who are living with and beyond cancer.

We're looking for a reliable, responsible and enthusiastic individual who delivers excellent customer service, takes pride in creating an inviting shop environment, and is motivated to ensure the shop thrives.

Hours:

The Outlet is open Monday - Saturday, 9.30am-5.00pm. We're looking for a Retail Manager to work 35 hours a week within these times. A minimum of 25 hours will be considered.

Salary:

24,000 - 28,000 depending on experience

Who you are

We're seeking a dedicated Shop Manager to take the lead at The Outlet. With the support of a committed volunteer team, you'll oversee daily operations, drive sales, and create a welcoming space that customers enjoy returning to.

This role offers the chance to manage a unique retail environment while directly contributing to the vital work of Teens Unite.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of The Outlet, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for customers

Ensure appropriate resourcing in-store for all opening hours.

Lead, support, and motivate the team ensuring they feel valued and engaged

Manage all stock and counter resources effectively, ensuring availability, rotation, and presentation drive sales

Create and deliver engaging in-store promotions to increase footfall and maximise income

Monitor sales performance, identify opportunities to maximise income, and work towards agreed targets

Ensure compliance with health and safety, trading standards, and charity retail regulations

Build strong relationships with customers and represent Teens Unite in a professional and positive way, increasing awareness of the charity

Work closely with the communications team at Teens Unite to promote The Outlet and support campaigns

Manage cash handling, banking, and reporting procedures accurately and responsibly

Person Specification

Essential:

A passion for and experience in retail management Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and support a volunteer team

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Good organisational and administrative ability, including stock and resource management

A flair for visual merchandising and creating an appealing shopping environment

A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to work

Desirable:

Experience working in charity retail

Awareness of the local community and ability to engage new supporters
