The DMC Group was formed in 2016 as a platform of complementary, market leading, needlecraft brands. The company owns and operates five iconic needlecrafts brands: DMC (global leader in embroidery threads with a 275-year heritage, the undisputed reference brand); Wool And The Gang (digital-first and contemporary knitting kits); Sirdar (over 125 year British heritage in knitting yarns); Rowan (iconic British premium brand) and Anchor (the most recent acquisition). Products include thread, yarn, kits, patterns, accessories, and publications. The Group also owns Tilsatec, a manufacturer of cut resistant technical yarns and protective gloves/sleeves bringing highly innovative technology to the PPE market.

Based at home but with regular office visits to both Wakefield and London as well as visits to customer premises, this role is pivotal to the success of our Rowan and WATG brand offerings.

This role is a back-office retail marketing role that goes out to customers and interacts - to be clear, this is not the role for you if you are an ex-retail manager used to running a busy retail store



Reporting to the Brand Director for both brands, this role will work alongside the externally facing sales teams as well as directly with retailers ensuring that both sellers and customers have everything they need to support brand sales in store from marketing assets, knitted samples and merchandise. You will also support one off retailer events some of which may occur outside of working hours. Whilst not producing everything yourself, you will coordinate internal team members as needed to deliver requirements to a tight seasonally driven timeline.

Key responsibilities are:

Determination, curation and provision of both internally facing and external marketing assets for the selling team and for retail stores Work with retailers to provide assets, garments, yarns and ideation to support the selling of the brands in store. Provide presentations and delivery of such if required and commercially viable. Undertake additional regular store visits if needed Maintain the retail calendar for WATG (our key D2C brand) to ensure this is transparent to the brand and dovetails with D2C where possible Maintain retail price lists for multiple markets and liaise with all market leaders to discuss any challenges to these Review and curate ranges and range information to ensure customer service colleagues have all necessary range and sku information Attend trade show events acting as a brand ambassador at all times Provide brand development teams with retailer feedback to ensure the range reflects remains the best commercial offer possible
Alongside proven trade marketing experience honed within a consumer goods discretionary spend brand, this role needs the communication and collaboration skills to work well with multiple stakeholders in a variety of geographies. With passions for hand knitting and customer relations, your commercial acumen will enable you to balance the needs of the customer with a need to make sound business decisions. Your detail-orientation and exceptional analytical skills means reporting will be on point whilst your organizational and prioritization abilities will enable you to juggle many critical tasks to ensure seasonal launch timelines are delivered every time.
