Job Description

Our charity shops play a vital role in generating income to fund our service and we aim to enhance this by moving into online sales in order to maximise our income potential. We are seeking someone to who has a good knowledge of marketing and social media to help bring St David's retail on line. This post will need someone who is creative, enthusiastic and highly driven.

Your primary duties will include sourcing items to sell online, promoting these on various selling websites and ensuring an efficient service of packing and delivery to ensure items are dispatched in a timely manner. You will enage with our shop managers to enlist their help in identifying key items for online sales.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Meet agreed sales and profit targets Maximise income through promotion of Gift Aid and ensure this is processed and recorded accurately Manage the sourcing, pricing, merchandising and display of donated stock In consultation with the Retail Manager, devise and implement sales promotions programmes Maintain a high standard of online display Be proactive in generating donated stock Process online orders to agreed standards and timescale Ensure that all organisational procedures are followed, e.g. security, reporting, banking Control all shop expenses to levels agreed with the Retail Manager Recruit voluntary staff to meet the needs of the shop Provide training for any paid and voluntary staff and any work placements in all aspects of retail, customer care, equal opportunities and health and safety policies and procedures Ensure all relevant administration is completed Ensure an exceptionally high level of customer care is maintained Ensure all orders are packaged and despatched correctly Undertake any required training courses Assist in the positive promotion of the work of St. David's Hospice Care, working with community fundraisers to exploit opportunities and maximise awareness of the charity Comply with organisational health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for staff, volunteers and customers

Person Specification

Essential

Good literacy and numeracy skills GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Maths Knowledge and experience of retailing and Gift Aid Commercial awareness Excellent IT skills Experience of Vinted, Ebay and other online selling platforms Administrative experience Banking and financial record keeping Merchandising and stock control Supervisory experience Awareness of health and safety issues Strong organisational and planning skills Good time management skills and able to prioritise own workload Project manager skills is crucial for growing the online retail business and increasing revenue Excellent verbal and written communication skills Flexible approach to hours of work Reliable Commitment to quality and best practice Commitment to increasing sales and profitability Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work Professional approach to work Calm under pressure Supportive of the work of St. David's Hospice Care
