About the role

Hours: 16 hours per week worked over 2 days to included weekends and banks holidays.

Our Retail outlets provide 29% of much needed income to the hospice. This is vital to be able to provide the much-needed care to the people of Derbyshire. The hospice has 15 retail shops,1 furniture warehouse a Donation centre, Clearance shop and 2 Coffee shops! We also have an online eBay/Amazon platform and an online furniture store, It\xe2\x80\x99s a big operation! We are looking for a Retail Sales Assistant to join our Retail Team.

The Retail Sales assistant will support the Retail Manager and team with all aspects of running the brand new Ashgate Hospice shop, situated in Alfreton town centre. The role will involve managing staff, stock control, preparing products as well as the training of volunteers.

The main responsibilities include:

  • To ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by the Ashgate Hospice shops is maintained at all times.
  • To actively support, any fundraising promotions as directed by Ashgate Hospice or your Manager.
  • To implement any promotion in the shop as directed.
  • To support the training, development, and motivation of a team of staff and volunteers.

About you:

You will be an integral member of the Retail Team at Alfreton, leading and managing a team. You will be responsible for ensuring the shop is safe, clean, and well presented, making sure our customers have a great experience.

Skills and experience required:
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to adapt to different customer challenges.
  • Ability to multi task and manage conflicting priorities and targets.
  • Knowledge of cash handling/Banking protocol
