PART-TIME RETAIL ASSISTANT (3 DAYS A WEEK) -

CRAFT KNOWLEDGE ESSENTIAL

Sew Knit Craft is a family run craft shop in the heart of Cambridge, on King Street. We specialise in quilting, knitting, crochet, sewing, and more. Our shop stocks a wide range of fabric, yarn, wool, haberdashery, embroidery items, and accessories. We are also an official sewing machine retailer, offering servicing and one-to-one lessons in quilting, sewing, knitting, and crochet.

We are looking for a friendly, customer focused retail assistant to join our busy team. This is a part-time role, 3 days a week, working across all areas of the shop which is across three floors.

Responsibilities:

Delivering excellent customer service on the shop floor and at the till Advising customers on yarns, fabrics, and craft projects Cutting fabric accurately and helping customers choose suitable materials Restocking shelves, organising displays, and keeping the shop tidy across three floors Assisting with stock deliveries, lifting, and moving items between floors Updating inventory systems Contributing to the smooth running of shop operation across three floors

Essential Requirements:

Previous retail or customer service experience Knowledge of at least one craft area: knitting, crochet, quilting, or sewing Flexible availability to cover shifts when needed Friendly, approachable, and proactive attitude Ability to manage a physically demanding role, including being on your feet all day and moving stock across three floors

Knowledge of at least one craft area (knitting, crochet, quilting, or sewing) is essential.

You don't need to know them all, but confidence in

at least one

is required.
This is a hands on role in a busy shop environment where you'll be on your feet most of the day.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour
