Retail Sales Assistant
Job Description

This is a full or part time position where you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, whilst maintaining high shop-floor and animal welfare standards.
- For this position retail experience is preferred, but training will be given.
- An animal management qualification or previous animal experience is a benefit, but not essential.
- I.T literacy is essential for shop systems.
Number of hours worked per week is negotiable. Cover needed is both weekday and Saturday's, but this will be on a rota. Candidate must be flexible to provide cover for staff absence / holidays.
The successful candidate must be willing to learn new skills as required and have a positive approach to dealing with customers.
Duties will involve:
- being a first port-of-call to customers on the shop floor, including interacting and approaching all customers and helping with enquiries
- using the till for transactions
- using your knowledge to inspire customers to try new products
- keeping the shop-floor to a high standard
- putting away deliveries
- replenishing and rotating stock
- using your knowledge to promote good pet ownership
