We are a friendly independant jewellery business based in Burnley since 1985. We offer sales in gold, silver, platinum and diamond jewellery, including wedding and engagement rings. We also offer a jewellery repair service.

Our small supportive team takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for customers and staff alike.

Role Description

This is an on-site role with the expected working days being Wednesday - Saturday (to be confirmed).

We are looking for someone to join the team and become part of the Peters Jewellers family with the potential to take on more responsibilities. We are a small shop with a great team that supports each other. We are looking for another friendly staff member that will be happy and comfortable working in a small space with their fellow colleagues.

The Retail Sales associate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, helping customers find the perfect item and processing sales on our computer system. They will also be responsible for taking in repairs and understanding what work needs carrying out, training for this will be provided along with stock handling and overtime the opening and closing of the shop when needed. The successful candidate could also help with our social media content if this is of interest.

Excellent customer service skills. Confidence in speaking with customers and recommending products. Ability to work under your own initiative. Positive can do attitude. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills with a flair for conversation. Familiarity with point of sales systems and credit card and cash payments. Experience in the jewellery industry is a plus but not a necessity as all training will be given. Friendly personality that will be happy working in a small working environment with fellow staff.

Important Notes

Must be available to work Saturdays as the working week will likely be Wednesday - Saturday with extra hours available for cover. Need to be flexible and available to work holiday cover. We are only a small shop so we're looking for somebody who is approachable and confident with building rapport with customers and other staff. You must be comfortable being in a small working area.
