The Home County Co. is a rapidly growing luxury home fragrance brand, producing beautiful soy candles, reed diffusers and hand care products inspired by Britain's most beautiful places. Founded in 2018 by owners Hannah and Oliver, we are continuing to expand our team to manage increased demand for our products and our planned further scaling of the business.
In the role of Retail Assistant you will provide outstanding customer service, offering expert assistance and selling Home County Co. products to our customers. Your primary duties will include opening and closing the shop, arranging products on display shelves, providing customer assistance, processing payments and keeping the shop clean and tidy.
Other duties include:
Receiving, unpacking and arranging new shipments from head office
Arranging goods on the display shelves
Assisting customers in finding the products they are looking for
Processing customer payments using the POS system provided
Addressing customer complaints and enquiries
Providing shopping advice and recommendations to customers
Cleaning and rearranging the store before and after hours
Performing periodic stocktakes
Collaborating with the management team and other team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organised at all times

Details
Given the size of the shop each shift requires just one member of staff, so being comfortable lone working is essential. The Home County Co. HQ is in Stewkley, Buckinghamshire, so members of the management team will also be on hand periodically to work from the shop, particularly as new staff members are trained and comfortable.
1 x full-time positions is available, working on a split rota varying between 33-35 hours per week, one weekend on, one weekend off.
Shop opening hours and shifts:
Monday-Saturday: 10am-5pm
Sunday: 11am-4pm
Overtime available as required, particularly during busy periods

Salary: 12.21 per hour
Ideal start date Monday 7th July, but with training shifts available beforehand.
