Herbert Sports is an independent sports shop that has been on East Grinstead High Street for over 45 years. We pride ourselves on our customer service and knowledge of products, selling equipment, clothing and footwear to all abilities.
We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic sales adviser to join a small team, in our family run business. This role is for 3 days a week (22.5 hours), including weekends and will also involve the candidate to be in a supervisory role on some days, running the shop and managing staff and customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills with experience as a team leader or within a supervisory role desirable.
Pay is dependent on age of applicant.
The job role is varied, but includes:
Aiding other staff in the day to day running of the shop
Advising customers
Providing technical product information to customers
Processing transactions on the till
Receiving deliveries and processing orders
Keeping the shop clean and tidy
Merchandising stock and window displays
Dealing with telephone and email enquiries
Following cashing up procedures at the end of the day
Responsibility for the security of the building throughout and at the end of the day
Assisting with training and staff development
Resolving any customer issues in a professional manner
Essential Requirements:
Customer service and/or retail experience
Understanding of the importance of customer relations within a small business
Excellent communication skills
Experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel
Flexibility in hours worked
