Job Purpose



The Van Sales Manager is responsible for leading the recruitment, development, and performance of the van sales team, ensuring sales targets and customer experience standards are met or exceeded. The role involves identifying and hiring talent, delivering training, monitoring team performance, and continuously improving sales processes to drive growth in unit sales, finance penetration, downstream revenues and overall customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities



Identify, attract, and recruit new staff for van sales roles across the business. Conduct interviews, assessments, and selection processes for potential sales candidates. Manage onboarding and induction for new sales staff, ensuring smooth integration into the business. Deliver initial and ongoing training to sales staff on systems, products, processes, and compliance requirements. Provide continuous coaching and development to enhance sales skills and product knowledge. Monitor and manage performance of the van sales team, setting clear objectives and KPIs. Review sales calls, emails, quotes, and all customer communications to ensure quality, professionalism, and adherence to company standards. Analyse and optimise the customer journey to ensure it aligns with the company's recommended sales process and delivers excellent customer experience. Implement strategies to increase conversion rates on unit sales, profit per unit, finance penetration and downstream revenues. Prepare and present to management monthly reports of sales staff performance, including recommendations for improvement and updates on actions being taken with underperformers. Collaborate with marketing, finance, and other departments to align sales activities with business objectives. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal obligations, including any FCA regulations. Attend industry events, conferences, and training sessions as required. Carry out any other duties reasonably requested that are consistent with the role and business needs.

Skills and Experience Required



Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the automotive, van, or commercial vehicle sector. Strong background in recruiting, training, and managing sales teams. Excellent coaching and performance management skills. Ability to review and critique sales communications constructively. Strong understanding of the sales process and customer journey. Commercial awareness with a focus on achieving sales and financial targets. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Comfortable analysing data and producing reports for management. Flexible and adaptable approach to work and problem-solving. IT literate, with proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office. Knowledge of relevant compliance requirements (e.g. FCA) is desirable.

Working Hours



Monday to Friday, 9.00 am - 5.30 pm, with occasional additional hours as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 80,000.00 per year
