Retail Security Officer - Full Site Cover (5 over 7 Days)

We are seeking a professional, vigilant, and customer-focused Retail Security Officer to support the safety and security of a busy retail environment. This position provides full 7-day cover between 2 people and requires guards confident in managing both customer-facing duties and reactive security situations, including dealing with antisocial behaviour (ASB), theft prevention, and incident response.

The successful candidate will act as a visible deterrent, protect staff and assets, and uphold a calm and professional presence at all times. You will work closely with store management to maintain high standards of safety, customer service, and loss prevention.

Key Duties:

Patrol the shop floor and monitor CCTV to prevent and detect theft or suspicious activity. Engage professionally with members of the public while maintaining authority and control in challenging situations. Respond to incidents of antisocial behaviour, theft, or disorder quickly and appropriately. Deter and manage potential offenders through strong observational and communication skills. Liaise with store management and local law enforcement when necessary. Complete clear, accurate incident reports and maintain security logs. Support store operations by assisting with deliveries, access control, and customer queries. Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and conduct in line with site expectations.
Skills & Qualities:

Excellent communication and conflict management skills. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Confidence in handling confrontational or high-pressure situations calmly. Professional presentation and behaviour at all times. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently or as part of a team. SIA Licence (essential).
