Job Description

As a Retail Security Officer LUT1, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for both customers and staff within our retail premises. Your primary responsibilities will involve conducting regular patrols of the store and designated areas to deter theft, prevent stock loss, and ensure compliance with store policies. You will be vigilant in monitoring CCTV systems, identifying suspicious behavior, and responding promptly to incidents. Building effective working relationships with store management and colleagues is essential, as you will collaborate to implement preventative security measures and support loss prevention initiatives.
In this role, you will be required to carry out searches of individuals and bags when necessary, in accordance with company guidelines, while always maintaining a professional and courteous manner. You will act as a visible point of contact for both customers and staff, providing reassurance and assistance as required. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing detailed written reports of incidents, managing detained individuals until the arrival of law enforcement, and supporting police investigations when appropriate. Maintaining accurate records and adhering to all relevant health and safety procedures are vital aspects of the job.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar security role, preferably within a retail environment. You must hold a valid SIA licence, possess excellent observational skills, and demonstrate strong communication abilities. Flexibility regarding working hours, including evenings and weekends, is essential. You should be calm under pressure, able to handle confrontational situations with professionalism, and committed to delivering exceptional service at all times.
