Job Summary

We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, preventing loss, and responding promptly to emergencies. The Security Officer will play a vital part in maintaining a secure environment through diligent observation and effective incident management.

Duties

Monitor CCTV cameras and surveillance equipment to identify suspicious activity or security breaches. Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and ensure safety protocols are followed. Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer behaviour and preventing theft or vandalism. Respond swiftly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, providing first aid when necessary. Record detailed reports of security incidents, observations, and actions taken during shifts. Enforce access control procedures by verifying identification and maintaining visitor logs. Collaborate with local authorities or emergency services when required to manage security issues effectively. Maintain a visible presence to reassure staff and visitors of their safety.

Requirements

Proven experience in security or surveillance roles is preferred. Knowledge of CCTV systems, alarm protocols, and loss prevention techniques. Valid first aid certification is highly desirable. Strong observational skills with the ability to identify potential threats or irregularities promptly. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively during emergencies. Physical fitness to perform patrols and respond quickly when necessary. Must be reliable with a professional attitude towards security responsibilities. A recognised security qualification or licence may be advantageous but is not essential. Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21-13.21 per hour
