Retail Service Assistant - Eric Lyons, Knowle

Job Summary

We're looking for a friendly, hands-on Retail Service Assistant to join our team at the Eric Lyons Knowle store. In this role, you'll help keep our shelves stocked, our counters looking great, and our customers happy. You'll be working alongside a supportive team in a busy, food-focused environment -- helping with everything from stocking fridges and freezers with pies / ready meals / fruit / veg, slicing meats, packaging freshly baked pies, keeping the retail store clean and tidy, helping with labelling products and prices, ordering bread & ambient goods...

Our Knowle store is the heart of Eric Lyons, featuring a full-service butchery, deli counter, grab-and-go fridges, ambient shelving and more. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with food, serving the local community, and being part of a business that takes pride in quality and service.

Key Responsibilities

Restocking shelves and fridges with fresh items made in our kitchen and butchery Slicing meats behind the deli counter (full training provided) Rotating stock daily to reduce waste and keep everything at its best Taking and preparing customer orders in-store and over the phone Making sure the shop always looks clean, tidy, and welcoming Helping customers with queries and offering excellent service at all times Working closely with the till operator to keep things running smoothly Supporting seasonal promotions and new product displays Pitching in with other daily tasks to keep the store at its best

Working Hours

Full-time: 5 days a week, roughly 7am-4pm (42.5 hours total) Typically 4 weekdays + 1 weekend day Exact days to be confirmed at interview

What We're Looking For

Previous retail or food service experience preferred (e.g. deli, farm shop, supermarket) A team player with a can-do attitude and good attention to detail Confident communicating with customers and colleagues Organised and reliable, with a willingness to learn An interest in food, especially quality local produce
