The Shop Manager will work under the direction of the Retail Trading Manager and will ensure the smooth running of the shop, including sales, sorting and storage areas; promoting merchandise to attract custom and achieve sales targets of donated and new goods; recruiting and training volunteers. Providing a good standard of service to customers within specified guidelines and ensuring best practice in the shop.
Working alongside a deputy and volunteer team you will motivate the team to achieve sales and Gift Aid targets.
An outgoing and enthusiastic individual you will possess the ability to react quickly and positively to the changing dynamic of a both the charity retail sector and our expanding branch.
At all times you will maintain the excellent standards expected from the RSPCA, and be supportive and sympathetic to the aims of the charity.
We are looking for a team player who is educated to at least grade C or above in GCSE (or equivalent) English and Mathematics, who can build internal and external relationships quickly.
You will have previous experience of working in a charity retail management role and possess excellent communication and customer care skills. You will have a knowledge of Health & Safety and of Trading Standards and GDPR regulations. Your IT proficiency will be strong and you will have the ability to use your initiative regularly whilst working in a busy retail environment.
