We are a friendly independant jewellery business based in Burnley since 1985. We offer sales in gold, silver, platinum and diamond jewellery, including wedding and engagement rings. We also offer a jewellery repair service.

Our small supportive team takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for customers and staff alike.

Role Description

We are looking for a reliable, friendly and customer focused person to join our small team as a shop supervisor. In this role you would help support the management team in the daily running of the shop with key holder responsibilities. You will be able to show you can confidently help run the shop when needed during holidays and absences.

This is a full time role, including Saturdays, hours to be discussed.

Key Responsibilities

Support management with behind the scenes tasks to keep the shop running smoothly. Provide excellent customer service. Opening and closing the shop when needed. Using our computer-based system to process sale, repairs and orders. Taking in customer repairs and detailing items accurately (training will be provided). Have a good stock awareness and knowledge of items. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation of stock.

What We Are Looking For/Skills

Previous supervisory/managerial experience in a retail environment preferred. Quick learner with good attention to detail and be able to follow processes accurately. Practically minded with good problem solving skills. Trustworthy and dependable with a strong sense of accountability. Flexible team player who is always ready to go the extra mile. Eager to learn and build on your retail and product knowledge. Confidence in speaking with customers and recommending products. Ability to work under your own initiative. A positive can do attitude. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills with a flair for conversation. Familiarity with point of sales systems and credit card and cash payments. A friendly personality that will be comfortable in a small working environment with fellow staff. Jewellery experience is not essential, full training will be given.

Additional Requirements - Applicants must be 18 or over due to key holder responsibilities.

Important Notes

Must be available to work Saturdays. Need to be flexible and available to work holiday cover. We are only a small shop so we're looking for somebody who is approachable and confident with building rapport with customers and other staff. You must be comfortable being in a small working area.
