We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic payment area and garden plant supervisor, with progression opportunities available to assistant store manager/store manager for the right candidate. No previous experience in horticulture is required as full training is available. This role will mainly be based in our garden plant area; leading a team and working individually to create beautiful displays and ensure all our plants are high quality and well cared for. You will also be trained as a payment area supervisor to help cover this department which requires strong customer service and personnel management abilities. The role is very physically demanding and will require you to be on your feet for most of the day as well as physically merchandising our plant products.

Duties will include but not limited to:

Creating inspirational plant displays

Plant care and maintenance

Staff management

Offering a high level of customer service

Training and developing the payment area team

Till area management

EPOS management, stock taking and monitoring

Liaison with head office

This role has excellent career potential for the right candidate. You will be part of a six person management team running a busy retail garden centre reporting to the store manager / head office.

Please Note:

Frequent weekend working is required as part of a staff rota - please do not apply if you can't work weekends

All our retail work requires physical lifting and carrying all day - working on your feet during the day / serving customers and being active. The work suits people who enjoy being fit, healthy and mobile.

All hourly wage rates subject to successful completion of short initial trial period before we look to train and progress your career with us. We are the largest grower / retailer of garden plants in the south west UK.

Our company has a proven, successful system for promoting staff over a three to six month period to higher paid roles within the company.
