Coolings Nurseries Ltd is a family-owned business, with two garden centres in Knockholt, Kent, one in Bearsted, Kent and one in Wych Cross near Forest Row, East Sussex. As one of the country's leading retail nurseries, we are dedicated to growing plants of the highest quality and across all four sites, offering a knowledgeable and professional shopping experience for all our customers.

We currently have a Retail Supervisor vacancy in our team at Coolings Potted Garden Nursery in Maidstone, Kent who will predominantly be Plant Sales based.

Duties will include:

Assisting customers with plant queries in-person and over the phone Ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered in order to achieve sales targets Overseeing till operations, refunds and cashing up Assisting the General Manager Liaise with suppliers to manage plant deliveries Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained throughout the centre Stock management - oversee stock levels within the site to ensure stock is replenished and well organised

Key Skills required for the role:

Previous experience in retail management or supervisory roles is preferred Basic plant knowledge is essential Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively Demonstrated phone etiquette for handling customer calls professionally A proven track record in sales management, with the ability to drive results Strong organisational skills and multi-tasking abilities to maintain an efficient workflow within the store Basic IT skills for stock management and sales reporting A proactive can-do approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
