RETAIL SUPPORT MANAGER - BASED IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND & SCOTLAND
ABOUT GIANT
Are you passionate about cycling and ready to take your career to the next level?
Giant UK Ltd, a market-leading premium cycling brand, and one of the world's largest bicycle manufacturers is seeking a dedicated Retail Support Manager for the North of England and Scotland. Become part of our journey to empower and support our retailers while representing our world-renowned brands including Giant, Liv, Cadex, and Momentum.
Working closely with our network of independent retailers, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team as we grow our brand presence across the UK cycling market.
THE ROLE
We're looking for a motivated and service-driven
Retail Support Manager
who's excited about empowering our retailers and growing brand presence in their territory. You'll be the go-to person for your network; supporting their events, guiding merchandising, delivering product training, and driving sales across our brand portfolio.
This is more than just sales though. It's about becoming a trusted partner and champion for our committed retailers -- helping them to succeed in everything they do by aligning with the values, energy, and direction of Giant.
You will regularly visit your retail base to provide unrivalled and A-class support; becoming the friendly and familiar face they need with a service-focused 'can-do' attitude.
We'll give you everything you need to thrive in the role, and you'll receive expert training from our product and gear managers, as well as provide you with ongoing support so you can confidently talk about, and ultimately sell our products to your retail base; managing and growing the sales within your area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build strong partnerships with your retailers to boost their performance and success, offering strategic guidance and advice that aligns with Giant's brand values
Stay ahead of the game with up to date product knowledge and tech trends, enabling you to provide comprehensive training and the ability to confidently communicate this to our retailers
Monitor market activity and trends, retailer needs and competitor behaviour, so we always stay ahead of the curve
Track performance against sales targets, taking ownership for delivering growth
Actively identify ways to continue growing our UK market share via in-store range extensions and smart POS placements as well as supporting sales initiatives across our brands
Take ownership of your territory, from scheduling store visits to managing support requests quickly and efficiently
Work closely with your internal retail support partner to provide seamless and consistent high-impact support
Assist with effective merchandising and brand direction
Partner with retailers to create and execute community events and activations that drive traffic, brand loyalty and grow sales
Proactively identify and resolve challenges for retailers, ensuring a smooth and consistent experience across the territory
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
A confident communicator with a natural ability to build and foster lasting relationships; someone who is likeable, approachable and full of positive energy
Exceptional organisational skills with a willingness to manage multiple projects with confidence
Self-motivated with a commercial awareness and proactive mindset
A genuine passion for cycling and an active lifestyle would be favourable
Strong technical understanding of the bikes and the cycle industry (or a willingness to dive in and learn) is a must
Ideally 5+ years' experience in retail, preferably within the cycling or sporting goods industry
A solid track record in sales, and success in a dynamic and energetic work environment
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel; Power BI experience would be a bonus
Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be flexible regarding travel, location, and work hours to suit the role
