Job Description

If you're great with people and have a talent for making the most of our retail potential, we're looking for a Retail Team Leader in the National Trust Garden Centre at Morden. In this role you can help everyone to have an enjoyable and memorable day.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5hrs per week, including weekend working

. Typically, you'll be working from 9am - 5:15pm

What it's like to work here:Morden Hall Park is a green oasis in the city, giving you a taste of a country estate with a glimpse of its agricultural and industrial history. This tranquil former deer park is one of the few remaining estates that used to line the River Wandle during its industrial heyday. The river meanders through the park creating a haven for wildlife. The park is also home to the National Trust's only garden centre which stands on the site of the historic estate's kitchen garden, surrounded by acres of parkland, miles of walks, and wildlife, creating a unique place to work.

What you'll be doing:This role is predominantly based outdoors, so you'll be working outside in all weathers, and it may be physically demanding & includes weekend working.


You'll help to manage the goods-inward department, unloading & checking off deliveries, organising storage spaces and managing customer deliveries, so you'll need a full, clean UK driving license. You'll help monitor stock and assist the outdoor team with deliveries and merchandising plants and outdoor retail products. You'll lead by example when it comes to focusing on income and profitability, which help to fund the National Trust's vital conservation work.


Reporting to the Plant Department Manager, you'll be supervising staff and volunteers in the outdoor department and working alongside colleagues in other departments to give the best possible service to everyone who visits.
