Retail Team Leader
, reporting into the Cluster Team Leader to oversee the smooth day-to-day running of our retail shop in Towcester each Sunday. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a committed team of volunteers while delivering high standards of customer service and helping raise vital funds for our hospice care. The successful candidate will need to be physically fit due to the high volume of manual handling involved. You will be able to safely move and handle furniture, some of which will be heavy. You will have good organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as previous retail experience.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the Shop
: Support volunteers and ensure smooth daily operations, opening and closing the shop as a key holder.

Drive Sales
: Help meet weekly targets by promoting products and creating an inviting shopping experience.

Support Volunteers
: Arrange rotas, provide training, and motivate the team to deliver excellent service.
?
Engage Customers
: Offer a warm welcome and provide helpful advice, promoting Gift Aid where possible.
?
Manage Stock
: Assess, sort, and price donated items; maintain appealing merchandising and stock levels.
?
Ensure Standards
: Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised environment in line with our policies.
What you'll need:
Experience
: At least 2 years' retail experience is essential; charity retail experience is a bonus.
Leadership
: Confident leading a team, with strong organisational and communication skills.
Customer Focused
: Friendly, approachable, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
Hands-On
: Comfortable handling stock and performing physical tasks throughout the day.
Tech-Savvy
: Familiar with using tills, basic PC skills, and able to maintain accurate records.
