Job description
The Retail Transition Manager will oversee Scope's proposed shop closure programme until 31 March 2026. This role ensures seamless delivery of closures, effective management of the Transition Lead team, and resolution of issues arising during the potential closure process.
The position is important in maintaining operational continuity, safeguarding shop compliance, and supporting the wellbeing of shop teams, particularly where Area Manager support is unavailable.
The Retail Transition Manager will also ensure all potential closures are completed on time and in accordance with Scope's policies and procedures.
The role is a national role and will require frequent travel and overnight stays as required.
You will:
Manage the shop closure programme, ensure shop closures are completed on time and to the required standards,
Provide leadership and guidance to the Transition Lead team and support the wellbeing of paid colleagues and volunteers
Serve as a key point of contact for project leads, Area Managers, and Retail Operations during shop closures.
Adapt to evolving priorities, ensuring planned actions are adjusted to meet final project deadlines.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
Inspire and manage teams to deliver results under pressure.
Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to a variety of stakeholders
Demonstrate the ability to support and enhance colleague and volunteer wellbeing during periods of change or uncertainty.
Be highly organised, with proven ability to manage critical paths, timelines, and competing priorities effectively.
Have a high level of accuracy in ensuring processes are followed and standards maintained.
Strong customer focus

Shop hours
It's important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day. So some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. Our full time hours are 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.
