Are you passionate about helping people build skills, gain confidence, and progress into meaningful work? We are seeking an enthusiastic Retail Tutor to join our training team and support adults developing their careers in the retail sector.
The Retail Tutor will deliver engaging, high-quality training that meets GLA contract requirements, helping learners from diverse backgrounds gain qualifications, improve their confidence, and move into sustainable employment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver accredited and non-accredited retail and customer service training (Level 1 & Level 2).
Teach and support adult learners in both classroom and online settings.
Design creative and accessible learning sessions tailored to individual needs.
Identify learner needs, set SMART targets, and provide ongoing assessment and feedback.
Support unemployed individuals to gain skills and progress into work.
Complete all administrative, compliance, and quality-related documentation accurately and on time.
Track learner progress and contribute to continuous improvement.
Promote opportunities and employability pathways within the retail sector.
Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure learners receive the right support.
About You
You will bring energy, professionalism, and a learner-focused approach, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
You should have:
Experience working in the retail sector (e.g., customer service, sales, stock control, merchandising, store operations).
Experience delivering training to adults within vocational or employability programmes.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to deliver engaging sessions.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting learner progression.
Ability to use digital tools and platforms confidently.
Qualifications & Requirements
A retail or customer-service related qualification at Level 2 or above.
A teaching and assessing qualification
Practical experience in retail and customer-facing environments.
Experience supporting unemployed individuals into positive outcomes.
