You will be joining us at an exciting time as we have just been awarded grant funding to retrofit over 2,200 properties over the next two years.

As Retrofit Officer you will be responsible for helping to deliver this programme and playing an important role in our EPC Band C and Zero Carbon journey.

In housing you can make a real difference, the role of Retrofit Officer will involve:

  • Supporting the Decarbonisation Project Manager or Technical Officer in the overall administration of the Project as agreed at the briefing and pre-start meetings
  • To make regular and sufficient inspections at intervals appropriate to the stage of the works to establish that the works are being carried out in accordance with the Project documentation and process handover in compliance to the project aims
  • To attend or hold regular Project Team meetings and deal with overall Project status including progress on site compared to the agreed programme of works
  • Ensure materials and workmanship comply with the contract specification or that any variations are valid and offer improved performance. Record all variations accurately and in a timely manner ensuring information is provided so that costs projections are updated in accordance with procedures
  • Maintain a daily project diary to verify relevant project statistics such as labour on site and prevailing weather conditions and provide copies to the Decarbonisation Project Manager or Technical Officer
  • Ensure effective liaison and working with the contractor and tenant liaison team to deliver high quality customer service and minimise disruption to customers in line with expected outcomes
  • Ensure customer complaints are responded to within prescribed timescales and any agreed remedial works are carried out fully, again within agreed timescales
  • Maintain contractual and financial control from commencement to completion of projects, utilising the project management system to accurately record ongoing project costs. Monitoring all aspects of progress and compliance on a regular basis and advise line manager of any variation from the agreed project parameters in a timely manner
  • Authorise interim and final payments subject to the Groups levels of authority and financial regulations and conclude and agree the final account including the defects period and the final inspections thereto arising
  • Monitor and record Health and Safety performance of the contractor against predefined KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and advise of any relevant issues. Ensure third party health and safety audits are effectively facilitated in line with project requirements
As Retrofit Officer we need you to have:
  • Experience delivering retrofit projects in particular External Wall Insulation Contracts with a working knowledge of related roofline works, loft insulation, internal wall insulation, cavity wall installation, window and door installation and gas works in relation to retrofit programmes
  • Understanding of contract supervision and Clerk of Works role
  • Building Construction related HNC or Degree qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislative frameworks applicable to the building/construction and social housing sectors for example PAS 2030 and PAS 2035
  • Knowledge of construction, housing disrepair and building pathology
  • Experience of procurement and delivery of major works programmes including contract management and budgetary control

This role will require you to undertake a Basic DBS.
