An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Revenues Specialist to join the Revenues Team within the Finance, Improvement and Strategic Housing directorate.
The role
This role will be supporting delivery of the Council Tax and NDR functions offering specialist support to the Revenue Officer Team.
You will be responsible for delivering a specialist, professional service with high standards of advice and support, resolving cases of varying complexity as they arise. This role will ensure compliance with statutory regulations, legislation, professional codes of practice and adherence to council policy and ensure and develop appropriate levels of quality and specialist knowledge within the Revenues team, along with the Customer Services team. One of the role's responsibility's will be ensuring that enquiries and cases are managed and completed at the appropriate level across services.
About you
We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate the following:
- Deliver customer focused specialist advice in relation to Revenues Services, keeping up to date with current and emerging legislation, best practice and policy to ensure continuous development and improvement.
- Able to lead on day to day system requirements across Council Tax and NDR, supporting the Revenues and Housing Benefit Technical Support Senior Specialist.
- Leading on specific Revenue processes and compliance including, processes such as debt recovery, change of address and exemptions.
- Able to comfortably advise on regulations and legislation and guide Revenue Officers colleagues.
- Ensure statutory duties, policies, procedures and workflows for dealing with all cases are adhered to.
- Ensure strict confidentiality is maintained and data protection rules followed.
