Your Role
Join our Revenues and Benefits Team as a Business Administrator Apprentice and gain real-world experience while studying towards a Level 3 Business Administration qualification.
We can offer 1 day a week dedicated to study time, monthly workshops at Frontier House Business Centre (M50 3SR), full support from experienced colleagues and mentors and a chance to build your skills and confidence in a
professional environment.
Important eligibility note:
This apprenticeship is designed for individuals at the start of their business administration career. Unfortunately, those with significant prior work experience in administration or a qualification at Level 4 (or above) in business or a related subject may not be eligible for funding and therefore cannot apply.
You'll be part of a friendly, supportive team helping to manage customer accounts and provide excellent service.
You will:
Communicate with customers and organisations by phone, email, and letter
Keep accounts up to date
Learn how local government works behind the scenes
Make a real difference to people in your community
About You
The job will involve maintaining customer accounts, processing applications in line with current regulations and communicating with the public via telephone, email and letter. If you don't have experience in all these areas, we'll help you develop the skills and experience you do have with our full training package.
You will have the following attributes:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability and confidence to deal with a wide range of customers over the phone and work well with other team members and services
Effective organisational skills
Excellent written English
Ability to work accurately to deadline
Ability to work flexibly to support the team's core work and other objectives
Experience of using office I.T applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
