We are responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax from over 200,000 households and we are looking for dedicated individuals to be a part of this essential mission.
Meeting the criteria outlined in the Person Specification for the Revenues Officer role is more important than prior experience, as extensive training will be provided to support you in the role.
Our team works in a flexible way, with some colleagues working from home and others in the office. We welcome applications from candidates based in any location.
What You'll Be Doing:
In this crucial role, you will be at the heart of our operation, responsible for administering council tax, ensuring accurate and prompt billing, collection, and recovery of unpaid accounts.
We offer a flexible working approach. While your hours may be fixed during the initial training period, you'll have greater freedom to manage your working day once training is complete.
Responsibilities:
Engage with citizens, ensuring they receive their council tax bill promptly and in accordance with the appropriate guidelines and legislation.
Gather all necessary evidence to support new applications and changes in circumstances, processing this information with the utmost accuracy.
Maintain excellent communication with citizens through phone, email, text, and occasional face-to-face interactions.
Qualifications and Skills:
We are looking for candidates who possess the following: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in using IT systems, including producing letters.
A strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer care.
The ability to work in a performance-oriented environment, meeting targets and deadlines.
Rewards:
For Revenues Officers we offer a competitive starting salary of 29,064per annum, rising incrementally to 31,022 (pro-rata if part time) following a successful probationary period.
If you are an experienced officer, your starting rate of pay within these bands may be considered for adjustment.

This is a permanent full-time role, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, but we are open to receiving applications from those wishing to work other work patterns.
