Job Purpose
Working with senior principal RF engineering in the design, development and testing of passive RF components and sub-systems for high reliability applications. Specifically, couplers, dividers, splitters, transitions, isolators, circulators and filters.
Responsibilities

  • Contribute to passive RF/Microwave component design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer requirements, and related specifications.
  • Ability to monitor progress of projects, confer with principal engineers, and review status to see that development is progressing according to schedule.
  • Check / sign off on Design Engineering drawings.
  • Contribute to Design Review - such as tolerance studies, FMEA, DFM, FEA.
  • Contribute to concept development - correct interpretation of customer specifications and requirements enabling generation of technical proposals.
  • Contribute to Research and Development - to explore new technologies appropriate for continual development
  • Sales Support - to provide technical assistance to the sales activity to win new business and support existing business.
  • Technical Support - providing technical assistance to the global operations teams, sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Technical Administration - to create and maintain design information to ISO standards.
  • Participate and contribute to team training, development, mentoring and audits.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with company policies.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
  • Desirable: Some experience in the use of EM design software such as ANSYS HFSS, CST, Keysight & AWR tools.
  • Desirable: Some experience in the use of 3D CAD software packages such as SolidWorks.
  • Essential: Ability for self-motivation and creative thinking.
  • Essential: Ownership and responsibly for own decisions and actions.
  • Uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative & effective ways.
  • Ability to apply technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Competent in use of 3D and 2D design tools.
  • Some knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, molding and assembly techniques.
  • Some knowledge of MIL-Spec and other Space/Defense/Aerospace/Medical industry specifications.
  • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis utilizing standard problem-solving tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Coordinates with project team to ensure milestones are achieved and risks are mitigated.

Scope and Complexity
  • Contributes to Functional KPI goals.
  • Responsible for full aspect of own design segment for new and existing configurations.
  • Collaborates across multiple sites and geographies.
  • Some travel may be required for training and/or other business purposes
  • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.
  • Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
Liaisons
  • Working with principal engineer, acts as advisor on engineering solutions.
  • Contributes on advanced projects and/or programs status.
  • Contributes to cross-functional teams in product development cycle.
  • Interface with supply chain during the development cycle and conduct customer visits as necessary.
  • Contributes to the instruction of Internal and External stakeholders on our products and capabilities.
