Risk, Finance and Treasury (RFT) Architect
Northampton

As a Barclays Risk, Finance and Treasury (RFT) Architect, you will be partnering closely with the Consumer RFT responsible for delivering the technology change agenda for the Consumer Credit Risk, Consumer Finance, Treasury & Liquidity businesses. Your role is to work alongside the delivery organisations providing technical solution and data architecture guidance and governance.

Hybrid Working

What will you be doing?

• Actively ensuring Consumer RFT has a multi-year architectural roadmap that reduces TCO, simplifies the systems landscape and defines a target state data architecture
• Ensuring that the roadmap and individual system architectures are consistent with our wider Barclays target architecture, our Data Strategy, and our Technology Strategy
• Aligning the group\xe2\x80\x99s book of work to deliver that roadmap over a multi-year period
• Actively ensuring architecture is thought through front to back from customer lens (front office) to RFT (back office)
• Working with teams to develop systems that are efficient, resilient, secure, operable and take appropriate advantage of cloud capabilities and economics
• Overseeing assigned programs, provide guidance to team members and ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure
• Representing Consumer RFT needs in group level forums deciding on technology strategy and product selection
• Working with solution architects from Risk, Finance and Treasury to analyse and identify technical solutions to the architectural challenges specific to their areas

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• Experience with software development, system administration, Enterprise Architecture and project management, with a preference for service-oriented
• Excellent understanding of integration and implementation issues and their architectural implications, and of best practice architectural and design methods
• Comprehensive breadth of understanding of the wide variety of technologies pertinent to financial services companies coupled with a depth of knowledge and expertise
• Can describe existing technology systems (full stack) across major functions / departments and has a comprehensive grasp of emerging technologies

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Working knowledge of the key issues in implementing secure and robust systems
• Broad and solid understanding of the concepts and roles behind service delivery and systems support
• Knowledge of different project methodologies, project lifecycles, major phases, dependencies and milestones within a project
• Experience of Retail Banking, Capital Markets, Consumer Risk or Treasury Functions

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we\'ve been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
