Duties



Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across various departments, including medical-surgical units, critical care, pediatrics, and outpatient clinics. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories. Administer medications and treatments accurately following established protocols and physician orders. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms to document patient information meticulously and ensure seamless communication among healthcare providers. Support specialized procedures including suturing, IV infusions, airway management, catheterization, and wound care with precision and aseptic technique. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet patients' medical and psychosocial needs. Assist in diagnostic evaluations involving medical imaging (CT scans), laboratory tests, and radiology procedures such as interventional radiology or nuclear medicine. Educate patients and their families on health management strategies, medication usage, post-discharge care plans including hospice or palliative medicine when appropriate. Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies to safeguard patient confidentiality and safety standards. Support discharge planning by coordinating follow-up care, home health services, or post-acute care arrangements. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation adheres to CPT coding standards for billing purposes.

Requirements



Valid nursing license (RN) with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in inpatient settings with exposure to critical care environments such as ICU or neurocritical care preferred. Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or similar EMR platforms; experience with medical imaging documentation is advantageous. Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and clinical procedures including airway management, suturing, IV infusion techniques, and wound care. Experience working across multiple specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, oncology, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), psychiatry (including PTSD care), rheumatology, immunology, or rehabilitation is highly desirable. Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments confidently. Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Basic life support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications like ACLS or PALS are a plus. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced hospital environments with high standards of infection control and safety protocols. Prior hospital experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is preferred; familiarity with CPT coding for procedures is beneficial.
