Rigger - Runcorn - 2 Months - 26.24- 41.44 per hour

EFAB Resourcing are seeking an experienced and safety-driven Rigger to support critical lifting operations at a major gas production and storage facility. The role involves preparing, inspecting, and operating rigging equipment to safely move heavy loads in line with site procedures, legislation, and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities

Rigging & Lifting Operations

Set up, inspect, and operate rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, chains, lifting frames, and hoists. Safely lift, guide, and position heavy loads as directed by lifting plans. Work in coordination with crane operators, lift supervisors, and other team members to execute controlled lifts. Identify the correct rigging methods, gear, and load-handling techniques for each task.

Safety & Compliance

Carry out all required pre-use inspections and ensure all lifting/rigging equipment is within certification and in good condition. Comply with site safety rules, risk assessments, and method statements. Report any defects, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately. Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment within an industrial/gas plant setting.

Additional Duties

Assist with general operational and maintenance tasks when required. Support multi-discipline teams during shutdowns, installations, or major lifts. Work safely at height and within confined spaces as needed.

Essential Requirements

Valid Rigger Certification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). Demonstrable experience in industrial, petrochemical, or gas plant environments. Strong understanding of lifting operations, LOLER requirements, and safe rigging practices. Ability to interpret and follow lifting plans and verbal instructions. Competent working at height and in confined spaces. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Valid PASMA certification (required).
