Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.



We are seeking a hands-on and highly organised Rigging Yard Manager to set up and lead a new rigging / scaffold yard operation at Bovingdon Airfield Studios. This is a critical role supporting major film and TV productions, ensuring all rigging equipment is maintained, prepped, and delivered efficiently. You will be responsible for building the yard from the ground up, managing daily operations, and leading a growing team of rigging technicians in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities



Set up and manage the new rigging / scaffold yard, establishing layout, workflows, and processes from scratch. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the yard, including the preparation, delivery, and return of rigging equipment. Lead and manage a team of rigging technicians

,

assigning tasks, overseeing workloads, and supporting development. Work closely with Account Managers and Coordinators to ensure all delivery and collection schedules are met. Maintain an accurate stock system, ensuring all equipment is functional, tested, and ready for deployment. Respond to last-minute production or crew changes, adjusting plans quickly while keeping communication clear. Uphold safety and cleanliness standards in the yard and ensure team adherence to all health and safety protocols. Operate forklifts and assist with hands-on tasks such as loading, servicing, and minor repairs. Foster a strong team culture with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.


Qualifications

Experience & Skills



Proven experience in managing a scaffold yard or rigging operations, ideally in film, TV, or live events. Demonstrated ability to lead rigging technicians and support technical teams under pressure. Excellent organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities. Strong working knowledge of rigging and scaffold equipment; truss and motor experience is a plus. Forklift licence preferred; HGV shunting, basic first aid, and fire marshal training beneficial. High level of professionalism, clear communication skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships. Flexible and dependable - able to work early starts, occasional weekends, and respond to time-sensitive needs. IT literate with a willingness to learn inventory and rental systems (RTPro experience is a plus). Must be an effective trouble shooter, communicator, and problem solver. Exceptional customer service skills with a strong sense of urgency.
