Rights Support Coordinator/manager 12 Month Ftc

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

AWAL is on a mission to partner with independent artists to tell stories that shape culture. We've revolutionized the recording business by putting artists first--providing global marketing and distribution, funding, A&R, playlisting, creative services, synch and brand partnerships, and access to real-time data--while allowing them to retain ownership and control of their music.

With a presence across 13 offices and a roster ranging from breakthrough artists to globally recognised names, we work with talents including Little Simz, Laufey, Disclosure, JPEGMAFIA, deadmau5/Kx5, Tom Misch, and many more. Now part of Sony Music, we operate with an independent spirit and a global outlook.

The Role

AWAL is looking for a Rights Support Coordinator or Manager to join the Artist Support team on a 12 month parental cover contract. The role is focused on capturing, tracking, and resolving rights-related issues across the AWAL business. These queries may come from internal teams, clients, external rights holders, or partner businesses within the Sony family.

This is a fast-moving, detail-oriented role that supports the health of AWAL's catalogue and ensures artists and partners have clarity and confidence in how their rights are handled. It demands strong problem-solving skills, comfort with structured processes, and the ability to manage multiple cases across internal tools and stakeholders.

You'll work closely with Business Affairs, Operations, Accounting, and other functions to ensure queries are triaged quickly and resolved efficiently. You'll also act as a key point of contact for AWAL clients, helping them understand what's happening with their rights-related issue and what action is required of them, if any.

The role reports to the

VP, Artist Support & Rights Support

, and is based in theLondon office, with at least

two office days per week

expected. We're open to candidates from a range of experience levels, particularly those with proven operational ability and an interest in music rights and catalogue integrity.

This role underpins the integrity of AWAL's catalogue and helps ensure artists' rights are properly respected and defended. As the independent music industry continues to scale and evolve, rights handling has become more important--and more complex. This role is vital to ensuring that complexity is handled professionally, ethically, and clearly for the artists and teams we support.
