Ripening Assistant
to support our ripening operations and customer relationships.
Role Overview:
As a Ripening Assistant, you'll play a key role in managing the flow of fresh produce through the ripening process, ensuring quality and consistency for our customers. You'll work closely with the Ripening Manager and liaise directly with customers to meet their specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform morning and afternoon pressure checks
Carry out process checks including protocols, ice monitor, and capacity tracker
Liaise with customers for daily ripening updates and special requirements
Monitor Smart Harvest to ensure ripening systems are followed
Complete and send daily ripening guides to customers
Load ripeners daily based on customer forecasts
Maintain accurate ripening records
Update customers on fruit quality and any concerns during the ripening process
Report product quality clearly and accurately to customers and internal teams
Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
Communicate effectively with colleagues and line managers
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 2 years' experience in the fresh produce industry (although we can train those willing to learn)
Strong understanding of fruit controls and ripening processes
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate level)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong planning and organisational skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
Customer-focused mindset
Team player with initiative and accountability
