DLG is evolving. Across every facet of our business, our teams are embracing new opportunities and putting customers at the heart of everything they do. By joining them, you'll have the opportunity to not just be recognised for your skills but encouraged to build upon them and empowered to do your absolute best.
We're looking for a Risk Analyst to join our Claims First Line Risk team, supporting the Claims Head of First Line Risk and Risk Managers. The Claims first line risk team is central to how we manage governance, risk, and compliance across our DLG Claims function.
This role is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract
What you'll be doing:
This is a great opportunity to help embed risk and control processes in a business that's going through a period of exciting change. You'll work closely with Claims business areas to improve their understanding of risk, support the assessment of controls, and help design solutions to mitigate issues. You'll also play a key role in shaping a proactive, risk-aware culture, with the chance to be part of a wider community of professionals focused on delivering sustainable change across DLG.
Key Accountabilities:
Promote a culture of risk and control awareness across the business
Provide guidance aligned with the Policy Framework and Minimum Standards
Identify, assess, escalate, and support management of risks and issues within business risk appetite
Support embedding of the Risk and Controls Framework, including delivery of meaningful risk reporting
Support the RCSA process to help the business understand and improve its control environment
Assist with issue and event management through root cause analysis and effective remediation
Analyse risk trends and escalate key insights or required actions
Conduct deep dives on control weaknesses to strengthen business risk resilience
Engage with stakeholders to provide risk expertise, influence decisions, and maintain oversight of planned activity
Maintain accurate risk system data (Workiva) and support audit, testing, and regulatory readiness
Our hybrid model offers a 'best of both worlds' approach. You'll spend at least two days a week in the office (either Leeds, Glasgow or London), with flexibility to work from home for the remainder.
What you'll need:
You don't need to be a risk expert, but you'll need a solid understanding of governance, risk and control principles - and a real interest in embedding risk culture and frameworks in a practical, outcome-focused way. Always focussing on customer and business outcomes.
We're also looking for:
The ability to review information and to understand the urgency and severity of events, in order to address and escalate accordingly
Strong analytical and reporting skills - and the ability to turn insight into action
A working knowledge of operational risk frameworks, risk appetite, and the three lines of defence model, as well as a high level of understanding of the relevant regulatory bodies
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - with the confidence to engage with a range of stakeholders
Curiosity, resilience, and a collaborative mindset
Familiarity with tools such as Power BI or Workiva (risk system) would be a bonus
