Property Risk is a vital part of the Risk Community, working closely with Chartered Surveyors and Solicitors, dealing with property and legal queries.We are seeking an experienced individual to lead a team in Property Risk, responsible for completing desktop valuations and making property risk policy decisions. You will need to support and coach colleagues while upholding exemplary customer service standards.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. You can also find out more about our approach toIf we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.What youxe2x80x99ll be doingYou will lead a team responsible for completing desktop valuations and making property risk policy decisions as well as handling various legal and property-related matters that could impact the value or suitability of a security property. You will liaise with our in-house Chartered Surveyors and valuation suppliers to ensure we deliver the best outcomes for our customers and the society.The role requires you to coach and support colleagues in your team and across the wider business, using our policy and your industry knowledge. You should be able to clearly communicate your reasoning and decision-making process for all cases.A proactive attitude is desired for this role, as you will be expected to use your initiative to produce solutions to problems and work as part of a team to resolve complex matters. The team works closely together, both in the office and over Teams, sharing knowledge, skills, and resources.About you

  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of effectively managing and developing teams to achieve high performance.
  • Property valuations, underwriting or risk management experience.
  • You must be able to investigate, identify and consider the risks associated with each case and use personal judgement to make decisions in line with policy.
  • Strong analytical skills that can help shape and drive change and efficiencies within Risk.
  • Confidently articulate information through clear written and verbal communication with multiple stakeholders, whilst adapting content to the audience
  • Demonstrating an ability to solve problems whilst maintaining accuracy and providing excellent customer service.
  • Innovative, keeping abreast of property market changes and constantly looking for new ways of doing things.
