We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Risk and Control Manager, CIIOM



Role Purpose



To drive the execution of the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) framework in the first line of defence on behalf of the CEO and COO while helping to cultivate a positive risk culture; act as a champion in the understanding of the NFR framework



Advise risk and control owners in the risk assessment process, support the control owners in their monitoring of key controls and determine control effectiveness. Provide support and oversight of issues and action plans.



The role holder is accountable to support and facilitate regulatory driven reporting, returns, and remediation programmes within CIIOM. The overall purpose of the role is to ensure that all Lines of Business, particularly Wealth & Personal Banking ("WPB"), are able to respond effectively to requests, queries, and remediation programmes from the islands' regulators, ombudsmen and other external institutions as applicable.


The role holder will also support the Head of Governance and Reporting to deliver the country Grow safely programme.



In this role, you will:


Participate the development and implementation of future-fit risk management frameworks Validate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls through inspection, inquiry, observation, sampling, re-performance and recalculation Review of risks and key controls through end-to-end process walkthroughs, events or thematic reviews, data-driven reviews or issue read across, and evidence reviews Coordination and oversight of training sessions to colleagues in the business where needed. Supporting local alignment to the Global Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), ensuring risks are identified, escalated and mitigated with full documentation. Oversight of appropriate controls requiring RCAs and Continuous Monitoring Assessments through Helios with Risk and control monitoring, control assurance, country risk assessments, risk logging/tracking, incident reporting and Management Information. Coordinate the delivery of Risk assessments the annual Enterprise Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA) and Country Business Risk Assessment (BRA), with a particular focus on WPB.


To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:


Experience working in relevant environments (i.e. Risk, Transformation, Governance and Regulatory Reporting) Experience working in relevant markets/context (i.e. CIIOM and Wealth and Personal Banking) Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations Strong stakeholder engagement Experience contributing to the implementation and monitoring of policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance. Excellent attention to detail and ability to appropriately feedback and drive improvement, consistency and efficiency across various teams.
