We are recruiting for a Risk, Compliance and Assurance - Technology Graduate to join our team in Oldham on a 2-year graduate programme.

About the role

As a Risk, Compliance and Assurance Technology graduate, you will join the wider Guinness graduate scheme cohort, which includes roles across a variety of departments. Over a two?year programme, you will support technology improvements in reporting and analysis across the Risk, Compliance and Assurance team.


You will support the continued development of Power Platform solutions including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, to deliver innovative reporting and assurance tools across Guinness. Your role will involve helping to maintain existing solutions by troubleshooting issues, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and adopting best practice. You will document solution specifications, create user guides, and support colleagues in adopting new technologies. Alongside this, you will seek to learn and understand the elements of an effective risk management framework, including controls and assurance, while developing the intellectual curiosity to spot opportunities for improvement and system development.


You will be supported by our Senior Risk and Assurance Manager and have the opportunity to work with stakeholders across the organisation. Your work will be used to provide insight to operational teams and give assurance to the Board and Executive Team over Guinness's risk management activity.


We are a large and complex organisation, with 500m of turnover and managing over 1bn of property assets. You will have the opportunity to consult with end users to understand business requirements and convert these into technical solutions that enhance risk management, analysis, and visualisation.

You'll also be able to demonstrate:

Essential:

Knowledge of Power BI, including a familiarity with Power Query and DAX. Awareness of the wider Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate, or other low-code platforms. Analytical approach with intellectual rigour and effective problem solving and sound judgement. Ability to understand, analyse, interpret, explain, and summarise complex data and issues in a logical manner. Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to present succinctly. Ability to prioritise and work as an effective member of a team. Ability to work on own initiative and to proactively communicate progress and issues to Managers. Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.

Desirable:

Good knowledge and interest in social housing issues and services offered by registered providers and other housing regulatory bodies. Previous relevant industrial placement or personal projects highlighting any technical skillsets developed to date.

Qualifications:

Essential:

Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent discipline.

Desirable:

Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate. Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals.
