FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Risk Manager to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 5-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Risk Manager to lead and support activities related to evidencing and documenting compliance with Laws, Rules and Regulations (LRR) governing the calculation and disclosure of Own Funds and Eligible Liabilities, as well as all Risk-Weighted Asset (RWA) risk types. This role is critical to maintaining regulatory compliance, ensuring robust governance, and supporting the broader risk control and reporting framework.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience across multiple areas of risk, a deep understanding of capital and RWA regulation, and the communication and organisational skills needed to engage stakeholders and deliver against complex governance requirements. You will work across first line of defence (1LOD) risk areas, finance, and central programme teams to drive progress, maintain high-quality documentation, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Lead and support the documentation of compliance with applicable LRRs related to Own Funds, Eligible Liabilities, and all RWA risk types
Review outputs from Risk stakeholders, facilitate the finalisation of related actions, and assist in preparing governance materials for senior forums
Collaborate with upstream teams to ensure accurate reporting aligned with defined controls and processes
Work with Central Programme, Risk, and Finance teams to update documentation and evidence in support of regulatory compliance
Support onboarding and engagement of relevant teams, incorporating feedback and ensuring tools and processes remain effective and user-focused
Assess and advise on compliance across capital and RWA LRRs, including CRR, PRA Rulebook, and Supervisory Statements
Track deliverables to completion and proactively monitor progress over time
About You

Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Risk Management
Demonstrable experience across multiple 1LOD risk areas, including one or more of: Secured and Unsecured Credit Risk, Wholesale Credit Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Market Risk, and CVA
Strong understanding of capital and RWA regulations and guidance, including CRR and PRA requirements
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and assess complex financial and risk data
Previous experience in risk management, audit, compliance, or internal controls
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple governance requirements and cross-team coordination
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality documentation, control standards, and regulatory compliance
