WHAT TO EXPECT

The Supplier Risk team is a function within Procurement Transformation & Operations (PT&O) tasked with monitoring the financial and operational stability of suppliers to JLR. This role is pivotal to the success of JLR and achieving their business goals. In Global Procurement, you will be part of the Control Tower, and be a member of an advisory arm - providing specialist risk support and guidance to the Global Procurement teams. You will tasked with engageming of stakeholders at all levels within Procurement, across the wider organisation and externally - driving performance wherever possible.

The role of Risk Manager within Global Purchasing is a high-profile specialist role which requires extensive experience of stakeholder engagement - often at senior levels within JLR and within the external supply base. It requires a high level of interaction internally at all levels, as well as the continual flow of high level of communication with external parties.

Other duties in this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and lead a high performing team that is aided by robust training and development framework - ensuring that a learning culture exists with team members\' capability continuously developed.
  • Act upon the varying needs and requirements of a diverse team to enable optimal performance; and maintain an inclusive environment to deliver on the strengths of all team members.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, developing positive relationships, ensuring risk objectives are established and met.
  • Lead existing governance forums in the Supplier Risk team.
  • Maintain an environment where everyone feels welcome, safe and valued for who they are
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

As a Manager, you will need to lead strategic supplier review meetings - providing financial support when requested including supplier site visits. You will also need to be able to quantify risk, to give colleagues a clear understanding of potential costs to JLR, and the steps required to effectively mitigate the risk.

As well as Risk Management experience, you will need to have the ability to lead the response to supplier distress and insolvency, ensure that JLR responds appropriately, with urgency, and cross-functionally, to protect JLR production - as well as providing your team with oversight and guidance on complex legal and commercial issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience in insolvency or restructuring, including both legal and operational issues.
  • A strong and inspirational leader. Capable of providing clear direction from the outset and then creating and maintaining a working environment, and providing the tools, for their team to succeed.
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills (both internal and external) - can interact at senior levels with credibility and authority. Able to pitch their message at the right level for the audience.
  • The role requires business acumen, a drive for results, a passion to succeed, personal initiative and influencing skills to manage the activities with a good level of independence.
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and environment, dealing with conflicting priorities for self and others.
