We're looking for a talented Risk Officer to join our Governance team at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) to help us build a resilient, risk-aware culture.
What you'll do
At CAF, every one of us contributes to our impact and as our Risk Officer you too will play an integral part in what we do. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening our approach to risk management as part of the Governance team who make up the second line of defence.
You will:
Work with the Head of Risk and the wider Governance team to embed a strong risk culture across CAF.
Support the development and implementation of risk management frameworks aligned with best practice and regulatory requirements.
Provide advice and support to the first line teams in identifying, assessing and mitigating charity sector risks and act as an escalation point for risk matters.
Coordinate and oversee risk and control assessments and associated requirements such as control testing and planned mitigations.
Co-ordinate risk and compliance training activities including designing engaging materials and supporting delivery.
Prepare risk management information, dashboards and reports for senior management and committees.
Who you'll be
This role is for you if you have experience of working in a risk, compliance or audit role and understand the fundamentals of risk management, or have relevant transferable skills and are keen to make a difference to society. We are looking for:
Someone with experience in risk management or compliance, ideally with knowledge of charity sector risks and regulations.
A team player who will act as a role model for risk culture and is comfortable working across all levels of the organisation.
A strong communicator and relationship builder who can work collaboratively across all functions to provide practical advice and draft clear, concise reports.
Someone who is detail oriented and can analyse and interpret data.
Someone who is organised and proactive, with good literacy and IT skills (Microsoft Office, SharePoint). Familiarity with risk systems or willingness to learn is an advantage.
