Brief Description

We have two exciting opportunities to join the Risk & Value Management team within the Capital Delivery organisation in the North West & Central Region as Risk & Value Managers,

The Capital Delivery portfolio comprises of a diverse range of Renewals and Enhancements projects including signalling, track, electrification & plant (E&P), buildings, structures and off-track.

As a Risk & Value Manager, you will provide specialist Risk & Value Management (R&VM) assurance and support to project teams and their leaders. You will drive and embed R&VM culture across the project and programme community and increase R&VM maturity.

These roles can be based from one of our core locations in the North-West & Central Region: Birmingham, Manchester, or Crewe. We offer hybrid working - with the requirement to be in the office two/three days a week.

About the role (External)

What will you be doing?

  • Provide leadership and guidance in the concept of R&VM, maintaining appropriate and effective application to all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Deliver Level 1 Assurance activities as specified by the Head of Risk & Value Management.
  • Manage &/or deliver specialist R&VM support services as dictated by the R&VM maturity of the project community.
  • Facilitate R&V meetings and workshops including complex programme QSRAs and QCRas
  • Actively promote R&VM culture and improve R&VM competency across the project and programme management community.
  • Monitor the output of others who undertake such R&VM activities to monitor competence, consistency and compliance with Network Rail procedures and provide assurance.
  • Manage the buying in of external R&VM support where necessary and that these are delivered to required quality standards.
  • Maintain a robust view of required levels of R&VM services and assure that suitably qualified & experienced resource is available to meet these requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of R&VM framework across their area
In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:
  • Competent in all aspects of project and business risk management facilitation
  • Able to build complicated cost, schedule and business risk models in a number of applications
  • Be classed as a \xe2\x80\x9cSpecialist\xe2\x80\x9d in the Leadership Competencies or be capable of attaining this level within a defined period.
We would also like but it isn\'t crucial to have/to be:
  • A \'Level Maths
  • A relevant degree and/or professional qualification
  • Membership of the Institute of Risk Management or Association for Project Management Risk Practitioner
  • Experience in Network Rail\'s project management processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of risk management software (e.g., Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran, @risk, Active Risk Manager)

We adhere to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: Band 3C Starting salary of \xc2\xa355,596 raising to \xc2\xa362,546.
