Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health disorders, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting recovery and rehabilitation. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and needs. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions. Provide therapeutic interventions, including crisis management and support during emotional distress. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in compliance with regulatory standards. Participate in treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients by adhering to safety protocols and best practices.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Previous experience in mental health nursing or psychiatric settings is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients. Knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and crisis intervention techniques. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating leadership skills when needed. Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing patient-centered care. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required by the facility's needs.
