What you'll be doing:
Our Construction Delivery team looks after more than 2,400 miles of Dorset's roads, plus bridges, footways, drainage, signs and more. With our workload growing, we have a variety of roles on offer:
Roadworker Level 1 (24,790 - 26,409)
- entry level, with the chance to take on an apprenticeship (starting at 25,992).
Roadworker Level 2 / Ganger (25,992 - 28,624)
- for those with experience in highways or construction, or LGV drivers.
Roadworker Level 3 / Chargehand (27,711 - 31,586)
- for experienced people leading and supervising projects.
Your average working week is 37 hours across the year:

If you've already worked in construction or supervised teams, that's a bonus. But don't worry if not - we're committed to training and developing everyone in our team.
What we'll need from you:
You'll need a full driving licence, plus a willingness to learn, work well in a team, and be adaptable and dependable. Experience in any of the following is helpful but not essential: surface dressing, line marking, kerbing, drainage, iron works, fencing, using plant or agricultural machinery, or HGV driving.
We run a 24/7 service all year round, so you'll be part of an out-of-hours standby rota. This pays 185.61 a week on top of your salary, plus overtime for call-outs at time and a half. You'll also get training to drive LGVs for gritting and snow clearance.
