Assembly and Installation Engineer

Position Statement



This role is to work as an assembly and installation engineer on automated palletising systems. The role includes electrical and mechanical assembly both at Granta and out on site, and may include service and support visits to customers sites. There will be approximately 30-50% off-site time at customer sites.

Performance Objectives



1. To be a key engineer who can carry out any part of a palletiser system build or installation.

2. Use engineering aptitude and initiative to make the required decisions to keep the project in motion in view of producing a quality functioning machine.

3. Carry out associated testing and customer documentation to take a machine to 'fully complete' status

Roles & Responsibilities



1. Carry out full system install which can include mechanical and electrical competence and some software

2. Carry out assembly inc. panel build mechanical system build

3. Carry out or assist with commissioning at Granta and at Customers sites

4. Carry out necessary software additions

As necessary

5. Carry out system service visits

As necessary

6. Carry out remote support calls and on-site support where required

As necessary

7. Report progress and issues to the PM for accurate customer communications

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



1. Assembly, installation and commissioning checklists completed

2. Competent with customer liaison and gaining customer confidence and satisfaction while on site

3. Good integration with current team members

Software knowledge and level of proficiency

Qualification / Certificates / Licenses



1. Clean driving licenses

2. Good general education to at least A Level standard, including Maths and Physics or similar subjects

Essential Selection Criteria



1. Positive attitude, prepared for open thinking and change.

2. Able to work as part of a team

3. Good mechanical, electrical and software engineering aptitude and understanding

4. Experience with machinery fault finding and resolution, including both mechanical and if possible software faults.

5. Reliable at completing tasks

6. Honesty

7. High level of attention to detail

8. Good with reliably reporting on results

9. Proficient at writing and speaking English

10. Willing to travelling all over UK and stay away from home for on site work (expenses paid +50 per night)

Ideal Selection Criteria



1. Experience with programming PLC's for automated machinery

2. Experience with creating electrical designs for machinery

3. Experience with commissioning machinery

4. Electrical training and qualification

5. KUKA or other robot programming training and experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-40,000.00 per year
