Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in roofing and a strong understanding of construction principles. This role involves working with various materials to install, repair, and maintain roofs, ensuring they are watertight and structurally sound. The Roofer will be responsible for providing their own tools and transport.

Duties

Install, repair, and replace roofing systems using materials such as tiles, slates, lead, and flat roofing systems (eg EPDM, liquid rubber, Resitrix, etc). Fabricate components as needed for roofing installations, ensuring precision and quality in workmanship. Perform masonry work related to roof installations and repairs. Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in all aspects of roofing work. Conduct heavy lifting as required during the installation and removal of roofing materials. Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of roofing with other building elements. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Roofer within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and safety practices. Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately. Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to roofing tasks. Experience in masonry is an advantage but not essential. Experience in timber works is an advantage. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods is required. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Freelance

Pay: 16.00-23.00 per hour
